Immediate Start | 4-6 Month Contract | Approximately 20 Hours per Week- Pay up to $40/HR (DOE)

Beacon Hill Financial is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a part-time contract opportunity. This role offers flexibility within core standard business hours while supporting payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. The ideal candidate is a confident, self-directed payroll professional who can work independently and efficiently manage payroll deadlines.

Schedule & Details

• Contract length: 4-6 months
• Part-time: Approximately 20 hours per week
• Flexible schedule within business hours (7:00 AM-6:00 PM)
• Must be available to meet payroll processing deadlines
• Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll using HRIS and payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, or similar platforms
• Process bi-weekly payroll for non-exempt employees
• Process semi-monthly payroll for exempt employees
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule
• Support payroll administration across multiple states
• Assist with quarterly payroll tax filings and related reporting
• Follow established payroll procedures and documentation
• Collaborate with internal resources when questions arise
• Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy throughout the payroll process

Qualifications

• Previous payroll processing experience required
• Experience with Workday, ADP, or similar payroll systems
• Multi-state payroll experience required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Self-starter with strong initiative and problem-solving skills
• Confident in payroll knowledge and decision-making
• Payroll tax filing experience preferred

Preferred Experience

• Processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees
• Multi-state payroll administration
• Quarterly payroll tax reporting and compliance
• Supporting remote employee populations
