Sr. Legal Assistant (IP)

Key Responsibilities
- Draft, format, and proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and case-related scheduling.
- Maintain client files and handle records management activities.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and external contacts.
- Prepare filing materials and submit electronic filings in state and federal courts.
- Assist with docket management and monitor critical deadlines.
- Prepare tables of contents, tables of authorities, and transcripts.
- Perform substantive legal support work and billable tasks as assigned.
- Support and mentor junior legal support staff when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive client information.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal assistant experience within an intellectual property practice.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Notary Public certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and document preparation.
- Experience with court e-filing, docketing systems, and deadline management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, electronic document management systems, and legal software applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proofreading, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
