Position Description

Beacon Hill’s client is seeking an experienced Subcontracts Administrator to support its supply chain function. This position will oversee subcontract agreements throughout the contracting process, from initial sourcing and negotiation through administration and final closeout.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience managing a variety of commercial agreements, negotiating contract language, evaluating cost and pricing information, and identifying contractual risk. This role requires someone who can independently manage moderately complex agreements while partnering effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external contacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontract agreements throughout their full lifecycle, including solicitation, development, negotiation, administration, and closeout.
  • Draft, review, and administer subcontract documents while ensuring contractual and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, pricing, and cost information to determine whether terms are competitive and commercially reasonable.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with subcontractors and vendors while protecting business interests and managing risk.
  • Identify potential contractual concerns, including areas related to indemnification, limitation of liability, payment terms, and other commercial provisions.
  • Oversee multiple contract structures, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Plus, and Time and Materials (T&M) agreements.
  • Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance against contractual requirements and help address compliance or performance concerns when necessary.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to coordinate subcontract matters and support broader organizational objectives.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships while balancing contractual requirements, cost considerations, and business needs.
  • Support risk identification and mitigation throughout the contracting and subcontract management process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent applicable professional experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant subcontract, contract administration, procurement, or related experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of subcontract management practices and applicable contract principles.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements such as statements of work, professional services agreements, staffing agreements, vendor contracts, or agreements supporting corporate services.
  • Working knowledge of cost analysis, pricing evaluation, and proposal review.
  • Ability to identify contractual risks and recommend appropriate solutions or mitigation strategies.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to independently manage moderately complex agreements.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working extensively within SAP.
  • Supply chain management or related professional certification.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience managing complex or high-value subcontract agreements.
  • Knowledge of advanced subcontracting practices and sourcing strategies.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple contracts, deadlines, and competing responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.
