Billing/Insurance Support
Location: Vernon Hills, IL
Schedule: Onsite 5 days/week
Hours: 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, with some flexibility
Type: Temp-to-perm
Pay: $20-$22/hour
Position Overview
This role supports the day-to-day operations of the billing and insurance department. A clinical background is not required, but ideally we’re looking for someone who has handled claims, EOBs, denials, and insurance follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Post payments, deductibles, and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and efficiently
- Bill patients based on out-of-pocket quotes and insurance allowances
- Submit original, corrected, and secondary insurance claims
- Follow up with insurance companies on denied claims and assist with appeals
- Respond to billing and payment questions from patients, insurance companies, sales representatives, and doctors’ offices
- Stay current on insurance guidelines and policies
- Work with CPT and diagnostic coding
- Scan and maintain EOBs and related documentation in patient accounts
- Provide backup support to the billing/insurance team as needed
Ideal Background
- Medical billing or healthcare insurance experience preferred, but a clinical background is not required
- Experience with claims processing/submission, EOBs, denials, appeals, and insurance follow-up
- Payment posting and patient account experience
- Exposure to CPT and diagnostic coding is helpful
- Strong attention to detail and comfort communicating with insurance companies and patients
- Ability to learn a detailed process and genuine interest in a temp-to-perm opportunity
