A Beacon Hill client in Cherry Hill, NJ is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term stability and strong growth potential in a collaborative accounting environment. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and process improvement initiatives. The pay rate is $40.00-$50.00 per hour, depending on experience. Previous experience managing month-end close activities and financial reporting in a corporate accounting environment is required.
Position Summary:
  • Manage general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting requests
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Support internal and external audit requests and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve account variances and reconciliation discrepancies
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
Technical Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Experience preparing financial statements and management reporting packages
  • ERP system experience required; NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis functions
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification highly preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
