Job Overview
Our client, a well-established company in the entertainment industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role will partner closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process efficiency. Experience in media, entertainment, production, licensing, royalties, or related industries is highly preferred. The responsibilities below align with accounting functions commonly found in entertainment organizations, including financial reporting, close, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and royalty-related accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.
  • Support revenue recognition activities and related reporting.
  • Assist with royalty accounting, licensing revenue, and talent/vendor payment tracking as applicable.
  • Analyze fluctuations, investigate variances, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Partner with production, operations, payroll, and FP&A teams on accounting-related matters.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and accounting system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Sage Intacct, or similar.
  • Entertainment, media, production, talent management, licensing, or royalty accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA or CPA-track candidates are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
