Network Engineer (Infrastructure Operations – Cisco Environment)

We are seeking a mid-level Network Engineer to join a stable enterprise IT team supporting a large-scale, Cisco-focused infrastructure. This role is primarily operations-driven, supporting a data center-heavy environment while participating in ongoing infrastructure refresh and expansion projects.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on troubleshooting, enjoys working in a structured enterprise setting, and has strong technical depth in core networking domains.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide day-to-day operational support across LAN, WAN, and data center environments
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing technologies
  • Perform adds, moves, and changes including VLAN and switch port configuration
  • Support Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and SD-WAN environments
  • Participate in infrastructure refresh initiatives including new building deployments and data center upgrades
  • Monitor systems and respond to alerts and escalations
  • Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and escalate complex issues appropriately

Core Networking Strength (Must Have Depth in at Least Two Areas):

  • Data center networking (Nexus, ACI preferred)
  • Routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP)
  • SD-WAN
  • Firewalls
  • Load balancing
  • General LAN/WAN infrastructure

Technical Requirements

  • Strong Cisco environment experience
  • Ability to clearly explain troubleshooting process and design decisions
  • Experience working in enterprise IT environments with structured processes
  • Comfortable in an operations-focused role with project exposure

Additional Qualifications

  • CCNA or equivalent experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
