Position Summary
Our client, a healthcare organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This position will be responsible for general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial reporting support, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
- Assist with grant reporting and restricted fund tracking.
- Support budget preparation and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting requirements.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience with month-end close and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with nonprofit accounting and healthcare organizations preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
