Beacon Hill has partnered with a growing non-profit organization in downtown Chicago to start immediately! Our client is focused on providing humanitarian support for individuals and families affected by homelessness, war and food insecurity.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day human resources operations for a mission-driven nonprofit organization
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, orientation, and onboarding paperwork
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS data with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist with recruitment efforts such as posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
  • Assist with payroll preparation, timekeeping, and compliance documentation
  • Help coordinate performance review cycles, employee training, and compliance initiatives
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, procedures, and HR programs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and nonprofit HR best practices
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including reporting and special projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 1+ years of HR, HR administration, or coordinator experience (nonprofit experience a plus)
  • Working knowledge of HR processes, employment laws, and HR systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and culture of a nonprofit organization
