We are working with a real estate company who is looking for an Assistant General Manager. This role is a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a premier office property in downtown Chicago. This position offers strong exposure to all facets of property management and is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to grow into leadership roles within a top-tier real estate organization.

As a trusted member of the management team, you will step in to oversee operations in the absence of the General Manager or Property Manager, while building strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal partners.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a key point of contact for tenants, ensuring timely resolution of service requests and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Support financial operations including invoice processing, budget tracking, and preparation of monthly reporting
  • Coordinate maintenance and vendor activity with engineering teams and contractors to maintain best-in-class building standards
  • Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Assist with lease administration, including documentation, tenant onboarding, and file management
  • Support tenant engagement initiatives, including property communications and events
  • Provide leadership and oversight to on-site staff, including a Property Associate and Tenant Service Representative
  • Step in to support overall property operations as needed to meet client expectations and operational goals

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Communications, or a related field
  • 2+ years of commercial property management experience
  • Experience supporting budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting processes
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to navigate challenges professionally
  • Experience with Yardi and Kardin systems preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
