Beacon Hill has partnered with an organization in downtown Chicago in hiring a Content Writer & Editor who enjoys creating polished, compelling content across multiple channels and can balance creativity with attention to detail. Join a collaborative and creative team where your writing skills will help shape content that informs, engages, and strengthens the brand . This is a part-time role for 14-18 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and proofread content for websites, blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, social media, marketing materials, and internal communications.
- Review and refine content to ensure consistency in tone, style, grammar, and brand messaging.
- Collaborate with marketing, leadership, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to develop content that supports business goals.
- Conduct research to create accurate, informative, and engaging content on a variety of topics.
- Optimize content for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and digital best practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Edit and revise content based on feedback while maintaining message clarity and overall quality.
- Develop compelling headlines, calls-to-action, and messaging that drive engagement.
- Ensure all content aligns with company branding, voice, and editorial guidelines.
- Assist with content planning, editorial calendars, and content strategy initiatives.
- Monitor content performance and make recommendations for improvements when appropriate.
- Support special projects and communications initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of professional content writing, editing, or copywriting experience.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
- Experience creating content for digital platforms, websites, blogs, and email campaigns.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize work effectively.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and content management systems (CMS).
- Experience using tools such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Asana, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Portfolio or writing samples demonstrating a range of content styles and formats preferred.
