Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a highly regarded intellectual property law firm seeking an IP Litigation Paralegal to join its growing litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to support sophisticated patent and intellectual property disputes before federal district courts, appellate courts, and administrative agencies. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The position is based in Washington, DC and offers hybrid flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide litigation support throughout all phases of complex intellectual property disputes.
  • Create, organize, maintain, and manage litigation case files and related documentation.
  • Monitor court dockets, deadlines, and litigation calendars to ensure compliance with filing requirements.
  • Prepare, proofread, cite-check, and assist with court filings, including motions, briefs, memoranda, exhibits, and appendices.
  • Manage electronic filing processes through federal court and agency filing systems.
  • Conduct factual and legal research using a variety of litigation and intellectual property research platforms.
  • Support all phases of fact and expert discovery, including document review and production.
  • Prepare materials for depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, experts, vendors, and court personnel to keep matters progressing efficiently.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while managing multiple high-priority matters simultaneously.

What You Bring

  • Strong litigation experience with a thorough understanding of court procedures and case management.
  • Experience preparing court filings, managing discovery, and supporting trial teams.
  • Knowledge of electronic filing systems and litigation support technologies.
  • Strong research, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and litigation support platforms.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to producing high-quality work product.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Experience supporting matters in federal district courts, appellate courts, and/or administrative tribunals.
  • Intellectual property or patent litigation experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel for trials and other litigation-related proceedings as needed.
