Key Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll for hourly employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration.
- Manage payroll adjustments, including retroactive payments, manual checks, and payroll corrections.
- Administer and maintain wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions.
- Review payroll practices and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure adherence to organizational policies and compliance requirements.
- Respond to agency requests and inquiries related to child support, DSS documentation, and payroll matters.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll questions, including direct deposit, self-service portal access, tax forms, and pay discrepancies.
- Perform payroll reporting, audits, reconciliations, and data analysis on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.
- Assist with general ledger support, payroll account reconciliations, and payroll-related journal entries.
- Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding payroll transactions, W-2s, garnishments, and tax documentation.
- Coordinate distribution of payroll-related resources and employee payment solutions as needed.
- Support special payroll projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of payroll processing experience for 1k+ employees.
- Experience processing payroll for a multi-state workforce.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Vantage, or similar payroll systems.
- Working knowledge of federal and state wage, hour, and payroll tax regulations.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic reporting functions.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
