Job Description
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable professional to support day-to-day AR operations within a growing accounting team. This position will be responsible for billing, cash applications, collections, account reconciliations, and customer account maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer invoices, credits, and billing adjustments
- Post and apply customer payments and cash receipts
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts
- Perform collections and communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies
- Maintain customer accounts and update billing information
- Process remittance information and research unapplied payments
- Assist with sales tax reporting, reconciliations, and exemption certificates
- Run credit checks and assist with customer payment terms
- Respond to customer billing and AR inquiries
- Assist with month-end close and AR reporting
- Provide additional accounting and AP support as needed
Qualifications
- 1+ years of Accounts Receivable or related accounting experience
- Experience with billing, cash applications, collections, or account reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with MS Suite
- Manufacturing, distribution, or similar industry experience preferred (not required)
- SAP, Infor, Avalara, or comparable ERP/tax software experience is a plus
- Sales tax experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
