Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Maintain standard costing and perform variance analysis for labor, materials, and overhead
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and support month-end close activities
- Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and inventory valuation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing cost reporting
- Partner with operations and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Track production variances and provide recommendations to improve profitability
- Support annual standard cost updates and product costing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP)
- Ability to communicate effectively with accounting and operations teams
- CMA designation or progress toward certification is a plus
