Overview
A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an Accounting Lead to oversee inventory and cost accounting activities within a multi‑site manufacturing or production environment. As a Lead, you will be working closely with operations and finance partners to align production data, inventory movements, and financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory and cost accounting processes, including valuation, costing, and reconciliations
- Lead month‑end close activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold
- Analyze cost and usage variances and partner cross‑functionally to explain results
- Maintain documentation and internal controls in a compliance‑driven environment
- Support audits and inventory counts across multiple locations
- Identify and implement process improvements related to inventory accounting and reporting
- Lead, coach, and develop inventory or cost accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory or cost accounting
- Experience in a manufacturing or production‑oriented environment
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and internal control skills
- ERP system experience required; advanced Excel skills preferred
- CPA or similar certification a plus
