Position Overview
A global, fast‑growing organization is seeking an Accounting Director to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and support a period of transition and process enhancement. This role will partner closely with senior finance leadership and play a hands‑on role in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and scalability across the accounting function.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, operational leadership, and experience working within complex or distributed accounting environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee core accounting functions including general ledger, close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Own and manage the month‑end and quarter‑end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Partner with senior finance leadership on process improvements, controls, and structural enhancements
- Manage and review work performed by internal teams and external/offshore accounting resources
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Support internal and external audits, including audit preparation and follow‑up
- Drive documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement of accounting procedures
- Act as a key point of contact across finance, FP&A, and other cross‑functional stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading an accounting function at the Director or Senior Manager level
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and hands‑on close and reporting experience
- Experience working with offshore or outsourced accounting teams
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross‑functional partnership skills
Nice to Have
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Experience within agency, professional services, or global organizations
- Background supporting accounting transformations, restructurings, or scaling environments
- ERP or cloud‑based accounting system experience
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate; flexibility depending on experience
- Potential for long‑term or permanent conversion
