Payroll Specialist

We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to assist the Senior Payroll Specialist with full‑cycle, multi‑state weekly payroll for a diverse workforce. This is a critical role for the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth operations across union, certified payroll, tax, and banking functions.

What You’ll Do

• Process weekly multi‑state payroll for field, craft, and office employees
• Manage payroll compliance, including certified payroll, union reporting, garnishments, and tax remittances
• Oversee banking functions: ACH files, Positive Pay, payroll funding, and paycard administration
• Maintain union and craft classifications, wage rates, and fringe benefit reporting
• Handle employee lifecycle tasks: new hire setup, PTO accruals, deductions, final pay, reimbursements
• Support audits and reporting for internal teams, workers’ comp, and external agencies
• Improve payroll processes to increase accuracy and efficiency

What You Bring

• 4-6 years of progressive payroll experience, including multi‑state and union payroll
• Construction industry experience required
• Strong knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage (preferred)
• Proficiency with payroll systems (Viewpoint/Vista a plus), ACH/Positive Pay, and Excel
• High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to work independently
