Senior Accountant – Bethesda, MD

Overview
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Bethesda, MD in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This fully onsite role is responsible for supporting core accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in a corporate accounting environment with advanced Excel capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Lead key aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, management reporting, and variance analysis.
• Analyze financial data and support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Support audit processes by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Assist with special projects and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting operations and reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Corporate accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and financial data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
