Senior Accountant
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a nonprofit organization. This role will support month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit accounting experience and hands-on experience with NetSuite.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and accruals.
- Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate accounting records in NetSuite.
- Support nonprofit accounting, including grant, fund, restricted, and unrestricted activity.
- Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and annual audit preparation.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and support AP/AR as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit.
- NetSuite experience required.
- Strong experience with month-end close, journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
- Nonprofit, grant, or fund accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup formulas.
