Senior Accountant – Washington, DC
Beacon Hill is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting team with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and general accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Perform account reconciliations and analysis
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation
- Assist with accruals, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Support financial reporting and ad hoc projects as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
Preferred Background
- Mix of corporate and/or public accounting experience
- Experience working in a multi-entity or complex accounting environment
- Exposure to large ERP systems is a plus
