Accounting Manager – Washington, DC

Beacon Hill is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead the month-end close process, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership skills and experience managing general ledger activities, reconciliations, audits, and financial statement preparation. The Accounting Manager will partner with leadership to drive process improvements, maintain compliance with GAAP, and support the continued growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and support audit requests
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to leadership
  • Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and other ad hoc projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory or management experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audits
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • CPA preferred but not required
