Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced EHR/EMR Business Analyst to support enterprise healthcare systems in a highly regulated environment. This role is responsible for analyzing business needs, supporting vendor‑managed EHR/EMR platforms, optimizing workflows, and ensuring effective system configuration, reporting, and testing.
The Business Analyst will work closely with technical teams, healthcare stakeholders, and external partners to improve system performance, reporting capabilities, and end‑user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain vendor‑managed EHR/EMR applications, including upgrades, configurations, testing, and ongoing maintenance
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify workflow improvements and system optimizations
- Gather, analyze, and document business and reporting requirements in a HIPAA‑regulated environment
- Support analytics and reporting platforms used in healthcare environments
- Perform build, configuration, validation, and testing activities related to EHR optimizations and enhancements
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and test case development
- Troubleshoot application issues and support end users
- Communicate technical and functional information clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Support system integrations, reporting maintenance, and dashboard updates
- Work within Agile and SDLC frameworks as applicable
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise applications
- Hands‑on experience with EHR/EMR systems
- Experience maintaining vendor‑managed software, including testing, upgrades, and configuration
- Experience working with stakeholders to document requirements and improve business processes
- Experience supporting analytics and reporting platforms in healthcare
- Knowledge of SAP Business Objects or similar reporting solutions
- Strong understanding of HIPAA‑regulated environments
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, or CCL
- Experience working in Agile environments and SDLC processes
- Experience with UAT, regression testing, and test automation
- Familiarity with healthcare workflows including Scheduling & Registration, HIM, Provider, Pharmacy, Lab, and Nursing
- Experience with JIRA or similar ticketing tools
- Experience with reporting portals, dashboards, and data visualization tools
- Background in government, public sector, or highly regulated environments
Additional Information
- Full‑time, 40‑hour workweek
- Long‑term engagement with potential extensions based on performance and funding
