We’re hiring a Senior Security Engineer to help mature and optimize our overall security posture across people, process, and technology. This is a high-impact, visible role focused on getting full value out of existing security tools while helping drive a shift from a reactive to proactive security model.

You’ll partner closely with security leadership and engineering teams to help define and execute a forward-looking security roadmap, with exposure to senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and optimize existing security tools, platforms, and processes
  • Improve how security tools are integrated, automated, and utilized across the environment
  • Partner with engineering teams to move from reactive response to proactive detection and prevention
  • Help develop and drive execution of the security roadmap
  • Lead improvements across:
    • Threat detection and response
    • Vulnerability management
    • Cloud and application security
  • Communicate security risks, posture, and progress to leadership
  • Build alignment across teams and influence adoption of security best practices

    • Tool optimization and integrations
    • Automation and operational efficiency

    • Security roadmap execution
    • Stakeholder engagement across technical and business teams

Required Background

  • Senior-level security experience with strong technical depth
  • Experience evolving from IT operations into security
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to drive initiatives and deliver measurable improvements

Preferred Experience

  • Microsoft security stack (Defender, Purview, E5)
  • Vulnerability management tools (Tenable, Rapid7, etc.)
  • Experience with tools like Darktrace, Varonis, or similar platforms
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Exposure to regulated environments (insurance/financial services is a plus)
  • Cloud and application security experience

Work Environment

  • Hybrid: 3 days onsite (Tues-Thurs)
  • Preferred locations: Madison, Milwaukee, Merrill, WI
