Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on Data Center Technical Team Lead to help manage, maintain, and monitor enterprise data center systems while driving infrastructure modernization. This is a highly technical lead role focused on making sound technology decisions, improving reliability and security, and partnering across IT teams (systems, security, network, business stakeholders, and vendors).
This role does not require people management, though growth into a supervisor role may be possible for the right individual in the future.
What You’ll Do
- Administer and support enterprise server environments, including Windows Server and/or Linux, virtualization, and application hosting
- Lead technical initiatives and projects by planning work, coordinating tasks, and communicating status to stakeholders
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver data center improvements
- Proactively monitor environment health and performance while troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues
- Assess and recommend improvements to performance, scalability, and security
- Develop and document infrastructure standards, procedures, and operational policies
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to support architecture and purchasing decisions
Required Qualifications
- Senior-level background in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering with strong hands-on technical depth
- Experience leading technical work (lead administrator, lead engineer, architect-level responsibilities, or similar)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Experience with monitoring tools, performance analysis, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Virtualization expertise: VMware experience strongly preferred; Nutanix experience a plus
- Experience in environments using Cisco networking and Microsoft platform technologies
- Exposure to healthcare enterprise applications (e.g., Epic)
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and/or SOC 2 audits
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, virtualization, cloud, or security)
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management experience
