One of my top clients in Madison is hiring a Project Manager through December with likely extensions into 2027. It’s managing a significant LMS System Migration. Strong Project Management skills are required, but LMS experience is not required. The role will require 1-2 days a week on site.

Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Project Manager to lead a large-scale Learning Management System (LMS) migration initiative. This role will manage the delivery of a complex, customer-facing platform that supports training, professional development, and digital content delivery. The project involves migrating from a legacy LMS to a modern, cloud-based solution and is part of a broader strategic product modernization effort.

This is a high-impact role requiring ownership of delivery outcomes, strong coordination across technical and business teams, and effective management of external vendors. The Project Manager will work closely with a Business Analyst and Change Manager as part of a broader delivery team.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex LMS migration with multiple workstreams and dependencies

Own project planning, timelines, risk management, and delivery governance

Coordinate and manage multiple external vendors and implementation partners

Partner closely with technology, data, security, product, and content teams

Translate business and product requirements into executable delivery plans

Oversee system integrations, data migration, testing, and release readiness

Manage stakeholder communication, executive reporting, and escalation paths

Ensure delivery quality while balancing speed, scope, and business impact

Support change management and rollout planning to minimize disruption to users

Required Experience & Qualifications

Senior-level project management experience leading large, complex software implementations

Proven success delivering customer-facing or commercial platforms

Strong experience managing system integrations, data flows, and security considerations

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple vendors within a single program

Experience working in blended delivery environments (iterative and waterfall)

Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills

High attention to detail with strong documentation and decision tracking practices
