Senior Active Directory / Entra ID Engineer
Overview
Seeking a Senior Active Directory / Entra ID Engineer to support and modernize enterprise identity infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role will be responsible for Active Directory administration, identity migrations, authentication services, security hardening, and cloud identity transformation initiatives.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience administering and supporting Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory)
- Hands-on experience with AD Federation Services (ADFS) and Azure AD Connect
- Proven experience leading AD/ADFS to Entra ID migration projects
- Experience configuring and managing:
- Conditional Access Policies
- Application Integrations
- Password Hash Synchronization (PHS)
- WS-Federation (WS-FED)
- Strong knowledge of authentication and identity protocols including:
- SAML
- OAuth
- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- Passwordless Authentication
- Experience modernizing Active Directory environments, consolidating domains, and implementing cloud-based identity solutions
- Strong understanding of Active Directory security, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies
- Experience with domain controller backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Level 3 identity and authentication issues
- Willingness to participate in an on-call support rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, monitor, and support Active Directory, Entra ID, ADFS, and Azure AD Connect environments
- Manage identity synchronization between on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID
- Configure and maintain Conditional Access Policies and application integrations
- Lead Active Directory and identity modernization initiatives
- Execute migration activities involving Active Directory, ADFS, Entra ID, and Azure AD Connect
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for escalated identity and access management issues
- Implement security best practices and support identity governance initiatives
- Ensure high availability, recovery readiness, and operational stability of identity infrastructure
