Technical Data Project Manager
Overview
Seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives across data platform, marketing data, analytics, and insights teams. This role will work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, business stakeholders, and external partners to drive complex data and technology projects from planning through delivery.
The ideal candidate has strong Agile project management experience within data/technology environments and is comfortable managing multiple workstreams, technical teams, dependencies, risks, and executive-level communication.
Must-Haves
- 7+ years of Technical Project Management experience managing complex technology and data-focused initiatives.
- Strong experience working directly with Data Engineering, Data Platform, Analytics, or Data Science teams.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects involving multiple technical and business teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, backlog management, and release planning.
- Strong experience with Jira and Smartsheet for project planning, tracking, reporting, and workflow management.
- Experience with portfolio/roadmap planning, resource capacity planning, and dependency management.
- Ability to manage and report project milestones, risks, issues, blockers, KPIs, and OKRs.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide clear status reporting and executive-level presentations.
- Experience coordinating across Product Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- PMP and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Experience with Power BI, Lucidchart, Monday.com, and Atlassian tools.
- Experience in media, entertainment, production, or similarly complex enterprise environments.
- Consulting experience.
