Job Title: Workday Test Manager
Location: Remote in WI, MN, IA OR MI
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Duration: 9 Months Initial Contract, Prior to Conversion
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead enterprise-level testing efforts for a large-scale Workday transformation initiative. This role is responsible for defining and overseeing the end-to-end testing strategy across Workday modules, enterprise integrations, and business workflows to ensure system quality, stability, and business readiness.
The ideal candidate brings strong QA leadership experience, deep familiarity with Workday ecosystems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
Project Overview
* Enterprise transformation consolidating multiple legacy platforms into a full-suite Workday ecosystem
* Scope includes Workday modules such as:
○ HCM
○ Payroll
○ Recruiting
○ Benefits
○ Learning
○ Finance and Supply Chain-related integrations
* Ongoing enhancements, consolidation, and future-phase expansion for UKG environment
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Leadership
* Define and lead the overall testing strategy across the Workday program
* Establish testing standards, governance, and best practices
* Identify and plan testing environments, phases, and milestones
* Ensure comprehensive coverage for:
○ Functional testing
○ Integration testing
○ Regression testing
○ End-to-end system testing
○ User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
○ Data validation and conversion testing
Workday & UKG Program Support
* Validate business processes and configuration changes within Workday
* Support testing of UKG Time & Attendance functionality and integrations
* Ensure accurate data flow between Workday, UKG, and downstream systems
* Coordinate testing activities across HR, Payroll, Finance, and operational teams
Integration & Data Validation
* Lead testing efforts across complex enterprise integrations
* Validate inbound and outbound data flows between Workday and downstream systems
* Partner with integration and data teams to identify, track, and resolve defects
* Ensure data accuracy across payroll, benefits, finance, identity, and reporting integrations
UAT & Business Collaboration
* Coordinate UAT activities with functional and business stakeholders
* Help business users define and execute meaningful test scenarios
* Translate technical testing concepts into business-friendly language
* Facilitate collaboration across technical and non-technical teams
Quality Governance & Reporting
* Manage defect lifecycle and quality metrics
* Provide clear testing status, risk visibility, and readiness reporting
* Proactively identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies
Required Qualifications
* 7+ years of experience in QA or Test Leadership roles supporting enterprise applications
* Hands-on experience supporting Workday implementations or major Workday enhancements
* Experience leading testing across multiple Workday modules
* Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery models
* Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional testing efforts
* Experience working closely with business stakeholders in HR, Payroll, Finance, or related areas
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in healthcare or other regulated enterprise environments
* Background supporting large ERP transformations or system consolidations
* Exposure to data migration or conversion testing
* Experience working with external implementation partners
* Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira)

* Azure-based integration and data platforms
* Agile/Scrum delivery model
* Test management and defect tracking tools

* Ability to guide non-technical stakeholders through testing processes
