Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support the Payroll Manager within a structured payroll environment.

Job Overview

The Payroll Specialist will assist with a biweekly payroll of approximately 1,600 employees. This role will support payroll audits and corrections, process adjustments and termination pay, maintain payroll records, and assist employees with payroll-related questions.

Duties

• Contact supervisors and managers to resolve missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate payroll data and correct errors identified during payroll audits.
• Support biweekly payroll processing for approximately 1,600 employees.
• Enter approved payroll corrections for prior pay adjustments.
• Calculate retroactive payments and manual adjustments as necessary.
• Process termination pay through the payroll system or manually.
• Coordinate with HR regarding payments for employees on leave of absence and update timecards as needed.
• Maintain payroll records for internal requirements and government wage and tax reporting.
• Support payroll processing related to employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Answer employee questions regarding paychecks and accruals.
• Assist with additional payroll responsibilities, including support with GL reporting.

Requirements

• Some previous exposure to payroll preferred.
• Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
