Senior Telecom Test Engineer (#785549)

Will spearhead the integration of 5G SA/NSA and LTE modem technologies into Android and iOS platforms, ensuring compatibility with multiple mobile operating systems. Implement PHY and MAC layer tuning for optimal modem performance, leveraging knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) techniques and adaptive filtering to enhance signal quality in noisy environments. Conduct detailed testing and optimization of 5G SA/NSA and LTE network infrastructure, focusing on aspects such as beamforming, MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output), and carrier aggregation. Develop custom test suites to evaluate advanced 5G numerologies, hybrid beamforming techniques, and channel coding methods such as LDPC and Polar Codes, ensuring compliance with 3GPP Release 15 and beyond. Analyze call setup, handover, and network re-selection procedures across SA and NSA networks using 3GPP Layer 1/2/3 signaling, evaluating efficiency under varying propagation conditions and network loads. Optimize handover strategies between LTE and 5G networks, ensuring seamless mobility management and minimal call drops or throughput degradation. Utilize advanced RF engineering principles to conduct modem validation, focusing on key parameters such as EVM (Error Vector Magnitude), SINR (Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio), and RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power). Perform detailed spectrum analysis using QXDM and XCAL to capture uplink/downlink signal quality metrics, enabling the identification of fading, interference, and multi path propagation issues. Develop and execute RF performance tests using QPST and XCAP to validate modem behavior in extreme RF conditions, such as low-power zones, high-mobility scenarios (e.g., vehicular speeds), and dense urban environments. Perform in-depth testing of authentication and encryption algorithms during SIM profile provisioning and inter-operator roaming. Develop comprehensive test plans covering advanced aspects of RF front-end performance, baseband processing, and 3GPP feature compliance, ensuring end-to-end system validation in lab and field environments. Lead validation of advanced RF features such as dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS), high-order MIMO configurations (8×8, 4×4), and mmWave deployments using carrier-grade RF test equipment. Execute lab-based performance testing, using signal generators and RF analyzers to emulate real-world network conditions, including multipath fading, Doppler shift, and signal attenuation in mmWave frequencies. Develop automated test scripts for RF and modem testing using Python, interfacing with tools like QXDM and APEX. Analyze modem logs to isolate issues in handovers between NR and LTE cells, identify disruptions in VoNR and VoLTE service continuity.

Position requires up to 100% domestic travel. This position is for full-time, salaried (W-2), permanent employment.

REQUIREMENTS:
