Senior Decision Automation Engineer (IBM ODM)

Location: Remote EST
This role supports the Enterprise Decisioning and Automation team, focusing on the design, development, integration, and support of enterprise-scale decision services using IBM automation and AI platforms. The position partners closely with architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, cloud‑based decisioning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain decision services using IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM)
- Configure, manage, and support Decision Center and Rule Execution Server environments
- Build reusable, enterprise‑standard business rules, object models, and decision artifacts
- Integrate decision services with BAM OE workflows and Watsonx Orchestrate
- Support rule deployment, execution tracking, monitoring, and reporting across environments
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to optimize deployments on OpenShift and Azure/AWS
- Implement and maintain application monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics, and Prometheus
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementation and follow best practices for decision lifecycle management
- Apply test‑driven development practices using JUnit, Decision Runner, and automated testing frameworks
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, to improve productivity and code quality
- Work closely with onshore and offshore development teams, architects, and business partners
- Contribute to governance standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide production support and collaborate across time zones, including off‑hours support when required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM)
- Rule Designer
- Decision Center
- Rule Execution Server
- Strong experience delivering enterprise‑scale ODM implementations
- Solid understanding of SOA and API‑based architectures
- Experience working in containerized and cloud environments (OpenShift, Azure, AWS)
- Proven experience setting up enterprise‑grade monitoring, alerting, and dashboards
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
- Experience using AI‑enabled development tools
