Aircraft Integration Systems Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the verification, integration, and modernization of complex aerospace and defense systems. This role focuses on ensuring system requirements are properly defined, tested, validated, and delivered in accordance with customer and program expectations.

The position supports aircraft and mission system upgrade programs involving advanced communications, radar, avionics, weapons, and digital infrastructure technologies. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with engineering, test, certification, and customer-facing teams throughout the system development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop, decompose, and allocate system requirements.
• Perform system architecture, design, analysis, and synthesis activities.
• Execute verification and validation (V&V) efforts to ensure requirements are satisfied.
• Support commercial and military certification activities.
• Conduct system analysis and project engineering activities, including risk and issue management.
• Lead and participate in technical reviews, customer meetings, and cross-functional engineering discussions.
• Develop engineering artifacts such as architecture models, requirements databases, specifications, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customer organizations.
• Support the development and execution of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall engineering quality and process improvements.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of systems engineering or related technical experience.
• Experience with system architecture development and modeling tools such as:
  • CAMEO
  • Rhapsody
  • Similar MBSE tools
• Experience with requirements management tools such as:
  • IBM DOORS
  • DOORS NG
• Experience performing verification and validation (V&V) activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with:
  • Requirements development
  • ICD development
  • Systems integration
  • Test planning and execution
  • Risk and opportunity management
  • Technical design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
• Experience supporting laboratory, ground, or flight testing.
• Familiarity with commercial or military certification processes.
• INCOSE certification is a plus.
