Our client, a well-established real estate organization in Philadelphia, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This role is responsible for financial reporting, month-end close activities, budgeting support, compliance reporting, and partnering with operations to ensure the financial performance of a portfolio of properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and account analyses.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Analyze financial results and provide variance reporting against budgets and prior periods.
- Maintain fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and other accounting records.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Partner with property management and operations teams to support financial performance and tenant-related accounting matters.
- Provide support for audits, tax reporting, and other compliance-related requirements.
- Prepare financial data and ad hoc analyses for management decision-making.
- Assist with due diligence and financial reporting related to refinancing, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve processes and ensure accurate financial information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience; real estate or property accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
