Position Summary
The Tax Administrator is responsible for supporting the organization’s tax compliance and reporting functions by maintaining accurate tax records, coordinating tax filings, researching tax-related issues, and assisting with audits and compliance requirements. This role works closely with the Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate federal, state, and local tax reporting while maintaining compliance with applicable tax regulations.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and assist with federal, state, and local tax filings, including sales and use tax, payroll tax, property tax, and business license filings.
- Maintain tax calendars and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
- Compile and reconcile tax-related data from accounting and payroll systems.
- Assist with preparation of annual tax documents, including 1099 reporting and related filings.
- Research tax notices and coordinate responses with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate impacts to management.
Experience
- 2+ years of accounting, tax, payroll, accounts payable, or related finance experience.
- Experience preparing or supporting sales tax, payroll tax, property tax, or other compliance filings preferred.
- Experience working with multi-state tax compliance is a plus.
