Employee Benefits Associate (3+ Years) | Indianapolis
A leading AmLaw firm is seeking an Employee Benefits Associate with at least three years of experience to join its nationally recognized employee benefits practice in Indianapolis.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation matters while advising employers on sophisticated plan design, compliance, and transactional issues. Attorneys in the group work closely with clients on both day-to-day counseling and complex corporate transactions.
Representative Responsibilities
- Advise clients on ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation matters
- Design, draft, and maintain qualified retirement and welfare benefit plans
- Support defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), and employee welfare plans
- Assist with executive compensation arrangements and related compliance issues
- Provide employee benefits support in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
- Counsel clients regarding tax, regulatory, and compliance considerations affecting benefit plans
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience handling ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation matters
- Strong understanding of ERISA, tax, and related laws governing employee benefit plans
- Excellent research, drafting, and communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters while delivering responsive client service
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach
