We are partnering with a well-established property management firm to identify an experienced Accounting Manager for an immediate engagement. This role will play a critical part in overseeing property-level accounting, strengthening financial processes, and supporting ongoing audit and reporting initiatives across a diverse real estate portfolio.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who can step in quickly, assess current workflows, and drive accuracy and efficiency across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across a portfolio of properties, including retail, commercial, and/or multifamily assets

Review and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting

Analyze and reconcile general ledger activity; identify and resolve discrepancies across multiple entities

Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Implement and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting workflows

Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and oversight on deliverables

Partner cross-functionally with property managers, asset managers, and leadership to support financial decision-making

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across the portfolio
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus in real estate/property management.

Proven experience managing multiple entities or property portfolios

Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and account reconciliations

Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Experience with property management/accounting systems such as Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, QuickBooks, or Rent Manager is a plus

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a hands-on approach
