We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll operations while supporting general accounting and month‑end close activities. This role is well‑suited for an experienced payroll professional with a solid foundation in accounting who enjoys contributing to accurate financial reporting in a fast‑paced environment. This role is on-site 4 days per week.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience independently processing payroll and a working knowledge of journal entries, accruals, and financial close processes.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll (Primary Responsibility)

  • Process bi‑weekly payroll for 70+ employees using ADP
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing, including taxes, deductions, benefits, garnishments, commissions, and bonuses
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions)
  • Process off‑cycle payroll runs and adjustments as needed
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain payroll documentation for general ledger accruals, audits, and reporting
  • Process employee expense reimbursements through Ramp and ADP

Accounting & Finance Support

  • Review invoices and coordinate with Accounts Payable as needed
  • Partner cross‑functionally to support financial reporting needs
  • Assist with ad‑hoc projects such as audits, business filings, and sales tax analysis

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience (required)
  • 3+ years of accounting experience supporting month‑end close
  • Experience with ADP payroll systems strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and wage laws
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and accruals
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
