Senior GL Accountant

Calling all Senior GL Accountants!! Our client, located in the Raleigh, NC area, is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Senior GL Accountant to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the close process, partnering cross-functionally, and making an impact.

While working as the Senior GL Accountant, you will partner closely with accounting and finance leadership with responsibilities including:

  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while meeting tight reporting deadlines
  • Perform account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and timeliness
  • Partner with FP&A and Commercial Finance to ensure SG&A accruals are properly identified and recorded
  • Manage and maintain the Capital Expenditure Request (CER) process
  • Ensure capitalized software is accounted for in accordance with ASC 350-40
  • Maintain lease accounting in LeaseQuery, including accurate entry and ongoing updates
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the close process
  • Collaborate with Audit and Risk Management to support compliance and internal controls
  • Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as needed

To be considered for this position, you would need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a senior or GL-focused role
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP; experience with leases and fixed assets preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to partner across teams
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
