Position Overview
The Vice President of Finance serves as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team, overseeing the company’s financial operations and accounting function. This role will lead financial reporting, planning, and analysis, while ensuring strong internal controls and scalable processes to support continued growth.
The ideal candidate is both a hands-on operator and a strategic thinker-capable of owning the close process, building forward-looking financial plans, and translating complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Executive Support
- Lead preparation of board-level and executive reporting materials, including financial statements, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis
- Partner with the CFO to develop financial narratives for board meetings, investor updates, and lender communications
- Maintain a standardized monthly reporting cadence, including actuals vs. budget, forecast, and prior year comparisons
- Deliver clear, concise insights and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Accounting & Close Process
- Own the month-end close process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and oversee all general ledger activities
- Manage reconciliations across key accounts including cash, A/R, A/P, inventory, fixed assets, and accruals
- Oversee inventory accounting, cost analysis, and reserve calculations (e.g., obsolescence, markdowns)
- Manage tax compliance (sales tax, property tax, and other applicable filings)
- Oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the annual budgeting process across all departments
- Own the rolling forecast and provide monthly updates incorporating latest business trends
- Conduct budget vs. actual reviews and provide actionable variance analysis
- Develop long-range (3-5 year) strategic financial plans
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and working capital optimization
- Build financial models for new initiatives, including retail expansion, product launches, and market entry strategies
- Partner with merchandising and operations on inventory planning and margin optimization
Team Leadership & Process Optimization
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team
- Build scalable processes and systems to support company growth
- Drive continuous improvement in close timelines, reporting accuracy, and forecast reliability
- Serve as the primary owner of ERP and financial systems (NetSuite or equivalent)
Qualifications
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience
- Strong technical accounting expertise and experience managing a full close process
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A functions
- Experience in fashion, apparel, retail, cosmetics, or consumer goods strongly preferred
- Background in both public accounting and industry experience is a plus
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Demonstrated success building and scaling finance teams in high-growth environments

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $200,000 – $260,000
- Performance-based bonus
