Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Accounting & Finance to lead the day-to-day accounting and finance function during a maternity leave. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership, including the CEO and practice leaders, to oversee financial operations, reporting, strategic planning, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, financial leadership experience, and a background supporting high-growth, private equity-backed professional services organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting and finance operations across multiple entities
- Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on strategic financial planning and decision-making
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting process
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- Review financial reporting packages and ensure accuracy and timely delivery
- Ensure year-end financial statements and supporting documentation are audit-ready
- Strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes
- Oversee treasury, payroll, and employee expense reimbursement functions
- Partner with Data Analytics teams on quarterly bonus and incentive compensation processes
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and AI-driven efficiencies
- Improve expense reporting and operational finance workflows
- Support international finance initiatives, including coordination with the India-based team
- Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff while collaborating across the organization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Experience within professional services, financial services, or consulting environments
- Experience in a private equity-backed organization, including sponsor reporting and stakeholder communications
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls
- Proven experience leading accounting and finance functions in a high-growth environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CPA designation
- Experience with Workday
- Experience with Sage Intacct
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience implementing accounting automation, AI solutions, or process improvement initiatives
- Experience supporting multi-entity and international operations
