Financial Systems Consultant

Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Finance Systems Implementation Consultant to support a major finance system implementation and transformation initiative. This role is ideal for someone who bridges the gap between Finance, Accounting, and IT-someone who understands accounting processes, speaks the language of finance, and can work closely with technical teams to ensure a successful system deployment.

This position will play a key role in gathering business requirements, supporting system configuration and testing, validating financial data, and helping drive adoption across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting knowledge with experience supporting ERP or financial system implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Analyze and document business processes, requirements, and system workflows.
• Support ERP or finance system configuration, testing, and validation activities.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and migration support to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assist with chart of accounts, financial reporting structures, and system controls.
• Develop and execute UAT (User Acceptance Testing) plans and document test results.
• Troubleshoot system and process issues, working with technical teams to resolve defects.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes throughout implementation.
• Create process documentation, training materials, and end-user support resources.
• Recommend opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, financial systems, ERP implementations, or a related function.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Experience participating in ERP, financial system, or accounting software implementations.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.
• Strong data analysis, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and IT stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

• ERP experience such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
• Background in financial systems analysis, business analysis, accounting operations, or finance transformation initiatives.
• Experience with data migration, integrations, reporting tools, and system testing.
• CPA, CMA, PMP, or related certifications are a plus.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable discussing general ledger reconciliations with the accounting team as they are discussing system requirements and testing scenarios with IT. This person will serve as a critical bridge between business and technical stakeholders and help ensure the implementation delivers both operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
