Our client, a well-established and growing automotive dealership, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and wants to gain exposure to both dealership accounting and title administration.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and customer service are equally important.
Responsibilities
As the Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Processing vehicle titles, registrations, and related documentation in accordance with state regulations
- Reviewing title paperwork for completeness and accuracy prior to submission
- Following up on title discrepancies and resolving outstanding title issues
- Maintaining title records and ensuring timely processing of all transactions
- Assisting with accounts payable invoice processing and vendor payments
- Posting accounting transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
- Reconciling schedules, accounts, and dealership transactions
- Assisting with deal posting and reviewing sales documentation for completeness
- Supporting month-end close activities and general accounting functions
- Responding to internal and external inquiries regarding title and accounting matters
- Maintaining organized files and supporting special projects as needed
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should have:
- 1+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, administrative support, or title processing
- Previous dealership, automotive, title clerk, or DMV-related experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of vehicle title and registration processes is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, etc.) is a plus
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
