Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, is seeking a detail-oriented Materials Compliance Clerk to join their Purchasing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who enjoys working with data, building relationships with vendors, and supporting critical compliance initiatives.

No direct materials compliance experience is required. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, comfortable working in Excel, and eager to learn new processes in a collaborative and quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review supplier material compliance records and documentation
  • Contact suppliers to collect, validate, and update compliance information
  • Verify supplier adherence to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and customer compliance requirements
  • Monitor supplier compliance with purchasing terms and contractual obligations
  • Assist with supplier audits, evaluations, and performance reviews
  • Track and maintain documentation related to regulatory and customer-driven compliance programs
  • Research regulatory updates that may impact supplier or material compliance requirements
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and compliance summaries for internal stakeholders
  • Organize and manage large volumes of supplier data using Microsoft Excel
  • Partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure compliance standards are met
  • Follow established procedures while identifying opportunities for process improvements

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in administrative, purchasing, procurement, customer service, sales support, coordinator, or similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data tracking and spreadsheet management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and vendors
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and following established processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
