Compensation Analyst (Contract | Remote)

Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 2-3 Month Contract
Hours: 40 Hours/Week

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Compensation Analyst to support a time-sensitive compensation and job evaluation initiative. This consultant will partner closely with HR leadership and business stakeholders to evaluate operational roles, refine job architecture, and provide market-based compensation insights.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned compensation professional who thrives in a consultative environment, communicates effectively with senior leaders, and can quickly build credibility across an organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive job evaluations and leveling assessments across operational roles.
  • Facilitate and organize discussions with business leaders to gather role requirements, responsibilities, competencies, and key accountabilities.
  • Research and benchmark compensation data for specialized technical positions, including engineering-related roles.
  • Review and refine existing job documentation to ensure consistency and alignment within a broader job architecture framework.
  • Partner with HR and leadership teams to identify and address inconsistencies across job titles and levels.
  • Drive conversations forward, obtain clarity from stakeholders, and help maintain project momentum within a compressed timeline.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in compensation analysis, job evaluation, job architecture, or organizational design.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • High emotional intelligence and sound judgment regarding when to challenge, probe for additional information, and drive alignment.
  • Experience leading stakeholder interviews and facilitating compensation-related discussions.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking and market pricing methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting engineering, technical, infrastructure, or operations-focused organizations.
  • Familiarity with Paylocity is a plus.
  • Previous consulting or project-based compensation experience preferred.
