Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Lease Administrator. This role is ideal for a commercial real estate professional with strong lease administration expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex lease agreements and financial reconciliations. The position is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to support a large commercial real estate portfolio while working closely with landlords, internal stakeholders, and lease management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, and abstract commercial lease agreements, ensuring critical terms and obligations are accurately documented.
- Analyze lease language and summarize key provisions rather than simply transcribing lease content.
- Manage lease documentation, landlord correspondence, invoicing, and portfolio records.
- Track critical dates, lease obligations, renewals, and financial commitments.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries through a shared team mailbox.
- Review and audit annual operating expense reconciliations for a large commercial portfolio.
- Perform detailed desktop audits to validate charges, square footage calculations, expense caps, and landlord billings.
- Investigate discrepancies and work directly with landlords to resolve issues.
- Review additional expenses including utilities, electrical charges, and capital expenditures to ensure accuracy and lease compliance.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of commercial real estate lease administration experience required.
- Experience supporting commercial real estate portfolios; residential, multifamily, or property management-only backgrounds are not a fit.
- Strong understanding of lease language, contract interpretation, and lease abstraction.
- Experience with lease administration platforms such as:
- CoStar Real Estate Manager (preferred)
- Yardi
- Tango
- Lease Harbor
- Similar lease management systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and financial review capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and thoroughly review work to identify errors and discrepancies.
