Our client, a leading multi-site medical organization located in northeast Austin, is seeking a Director of Marketing to establish and lead the strategic direction of its marketing function across multiple facilities and markets. This individual will oversee branding, paid digital advertising, media buying, social media, grassroots marketing, community outreach, analytics, budgeting, vendor relationships, and departmental operations. The director will work closely with the CEO, mentor and develop the internal marketing team, partner with an external marketing agency, and ensure marketing investments support patient-volume growth and broader organizational goals.

This is a visible, hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can build a marketing function from the ground up, establish scalable processes, and move comfortably between strategy, team leadership, and day-to-day execution. The position is based in northeast Austin, maintains core hours of 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and is a direct hire opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the internal marketing team while establishing clear goals, workflows, and accountability standards.
  • Partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership to develop and execute the company’s overall marketing strategy.
  • Build scalable marketing processes and departmental structure to support continued growth across multiple facilities and markets.
  • Direct brand strategy across digital channels, social media, billboards, marketing collateral, facilities, outside vendors, and community initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee paid digital advertising across search, social, display, programmatic, and geo-targeted channels.
  • Manage media-buying strategies and external agency and vendor relationships, including pricing, placements, budgets, and performance expectations.
  • Lead grassroots and community-based marketing efforts, including local events, sponsorships, partnerships, education programs, and facility-specific outreach.
  • Set annual and quarterly marketing goals, KPIs, and budgets while presenting performance updates to executive leadership and the board.
  • Analyze campaign performance and ROI across digital, traditional, grassroots, and community channels to improve targeting, creative strategy, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee marketing operations, including departmental budgeting, invoices, vendor contracts, reporting, documentation, inventory, project timelines, and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of progressive marketing experience across strategic planning, branding, advertising, and campaign execution.
  • At least two years of experience directly managing, mentoring, and developing a marketing team.
  • Demonstrated expertise in paid digital advertising and media buying across search, social, display, and related channels.
  • Experience developing and executing grassroots, community-based, or local-market marketing programs.
  • Proven ability to build marketing strategy and departmental processes from the ground up while remaining actively involved in execution.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using marketing data, dashboards, KPIs, and ROI reporting to guide decisions.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, external agencies, media partners, vendors, contracts, and departmental operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategies and results to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and marketing or CRM platforms such as Zoho CRM.
  • Highly organized and capable of balancing multiple projects, facilities, markets, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Collaborative and hands-on leadership style, with the judgment to know when to execute independently and when to delegate.
