Our client, a global nonprofit organization is seeking an Editorial Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis in Washington, D.C.
About The Job:
- Support the manuscript submission and peer review process for PAIN and PAIN Reports
- Review manuscript submissions for completeness and compliance with journal guidelines
- Assign manuscripts to editors and support peer review workflows
- Maintain accuracy, quality, and turnaround times across editorial projects
- Provide editorial and administrative support to the publications team
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (science, healthcare, communications, journalism, English, publishing, etc.)
- 3+ years of professional work experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Academic publishing, peer review, Editorial Manager, and/or copyediting experience preferred
About The Position:
- Start Date: ASAP!
- $23.00-$25.00/hr
- Temporary assignment: 6 weeks with potential to extend
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
