Position Summary:
The Senior Payroll Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and processing of multi-state payroll for a large employee population. This position will support payroll operations, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the processing and payment of regular and off-cycle payrolls
- Review and approve employee data changes to ensure accurate reporting and processing
- Participate in payroll system enhancement projects, including automation initiatives
- Process employment verifications for current and former employees
- Support file generation and troubleshooting for 401(k), HSA, and other benefit plans; coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve issues
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries
- Audit and reconcile data feeds to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Research and resolve complex payroll issues and help implement processes to mitigate risk
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of multi-state payroll tax experience required; 5-7 years of payroll processing experience preferred
- Working knowledge of US federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Experience with year-end processes, process improvements, and automation
- Proficiency in payroll/HCM platforms and advanced Excel skills; HRIS reporting experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
