Job Overview
The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close. This role reports to the Accounting Manager or Controller and plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities
- Perform balance sheet, bank, and general ledger account reconciliations
- Assist with AP, AR, and payroll-related entries as needed
- Support preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements
- Analyze financial data and research variances or discrepancies
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
- Assist with audit requests, tax filings, and internal controls
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of general accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
